A bit of vulnerability here: I have Franopanophia (fear of birthdays). I don’t celebrate. It’s an instant depression stimulator for me and pretty severe. Like : don’t-dare-breathe-a-word-about-it-and-please-put-me-into-a coma-the-day-of-so-I-don’t-have-to-be-remotely-aware-of-it severe. But I have no issues with anyone else’s. In fact, I take finding the most perfect card very seriously. Or ways to give it a more personalized touch, whatever the celebration. Often times I’ll just make one. When particularly inspired, they expand into a music video of some sort for the honoree - which is usually a member of my family as they are everything to me. And if there’s one thing I love to do it’s to put a big smile on their face.
